Toast to 2016 with this Simple Dark Chocolate Superfood Martini

In celebration of the coming NEW YEAR I wanted to share a simple and potent dark chocolate martini with you all! This can be made in under 10 min. You can also double up on quantities to prepare in advance for a larger party.

I love using Coco Gogo by Essential Living Foods for this martini because it is pre-blended containing all the ingredients you need in one container: coconut sugar, cacao powder, mesquite, lucuma, guarana, vanilla and salt! Just mix it with your favorite dairy or non-dairy creamer, some water, gluten free vodka, dip your glasses in a lil' coconut sugar and voila'...you have yourself a unique, decadent and delicious super herbal elixir to ring in the New Year!





Ingredients:
1/2 cup of Coco Gogo Energy Elixir by Essential Living Foods
(contains coconut sugar, cacao powder, mesquite, guarana, vanilla, himalayan sea salt)

1 pint of heavy cream or dairy free creamer of your choice
1/4 -1/2 cup of water
1/3-1/2 cup of grain free alcohol (I used potato vodka)
1 cup of coconut sugar for martini glass edge

Instructions:
1. Place Coco Gogo Energy Elixir and Heavy Cream or Cream Alternative into a Sauce Pan.
2. Bring to a boil, turn temp down and allow to simmer for 5 min.
3. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl.
4. Allow to cool for about 15 min.
5. Add 1/3 cup of vodka, taste and add up to 1/2 cup depending on the flavor and strength of the drink you like.
6. Add water. 1/4 - 1/2 depending on thickness you desire.
7. Dip rim of martini glass in water and roll edges into a bowl filled with coconut sugar.
8. If the recipe ends up being too thick or pudding like you can add more vodka or water to make it the consistency you like.
